IHG Hotels & Resorts is expanding its Staybridge Suites extended stay brand in Europe with new properties planned in Budapest, Antwerp, and Belfast.
This announcement is part of the brand’s European expansion, with nine new properties joining the existing 10 hotels across the continent. Staybridge Suites Malaga will be the brand’s first property in Spain and is set to open later this year.
Staybridge Suites Antwerp, with 99 rooms, is scheduled to open in 2026. This will be followed by properties in Budapest and Belfast in 2027, featuring 152 and 132 rooms respectively.
The new hotels will offer fully equipped kitchens in each suite, along with amenities such as a fitness room, shop, laundry facilities, and storage lockers for guests. They will also provide a breakfast buffet and evening “happy hour” events.
Willemijn Geels, IHG’s vice president of development in Europe, commented: “The three latest signings follow the opening of Staybridge Suites Cannes Centre, France, in December 2023. This demonstrates the demand for our all-suites concept across Europe, catering to travelers seeking a blend of work and leisure or extended stays with both productivity and relaxation.”
In addition to its current portfolio of 324 hotels, IHG is planning to open 171 new Staybridge Suites properties globally over the next three to five years. The brand’s pipeline represents more than half of its current footprint, reflecting confidence from owners in new and diverse markets. IHG also owns the Candlewood Suites and Atwell Suites extended stay brands.
Geels added, “We are excited to collaborate with our partners to bring these new hotels to life and look forward to their success.”
