London has maintained its position as the most popular meetings and events destination in Europe, with a Madrid hotel named as the top venue.
According to the annual report from meetings and events tech provider Cvent, the top ten destinations in Europe have remained consistent year-over-year based on sourcing activity through the Cvent Supplier Network.
Barcelona held the second spot for meetings destinations, while Madrid moved up to third and Berlin climbed to fourth. Lisbon ranked fifth, followed by Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Frankfurt, and Munich to complete the top ten list.
“We’re thrilled to once again top the Cvent Top Meeting Destinations in Europe list,” said Fiona Plumpton, head of London Convention Bureau services. “London experienced significant growth last year with 30 new hotels, and we are set to nearly double that number this year. We are particularly excited about the upcoming transformation of ExCeL London, with a £200 million investment revitalizing the venue.”
The Meliá Castilla in Madrid was awarded the title of the top meetings hotel in Europe, moving up three spaces since the 2023 report from Cvent. The Hilton Prague claimed the second spot, with NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding in third. Madrid’s Marriott Auditorium Hotel & Conference Centre and the Lisbon Marriott Hotel rounded out the top five.
Other top meetings and events destinations included Orlando, Las Vegas, and Nashville in North America; Dubai, Istanbul, and Abu Dhabi in the Middle East and Africa; and Singapore, Bangkok, and Sydney in Asia Pacific.
