A member of the Award Travel 101 Facebook Group recently shared about some great business class award availability to and from Europe on Air France through Virgin Atlantic. This is particularly exciting because of the current 30% transfer bonuses available from various transferable currencies to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. With this bonus, you can fly to Europe in early winter 2025 for just 38K transferable points each way.
The Offer
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club has access to a good amount of Air France business class award space in January 2025 starting at 48,500 miles one-way between several US gateways and Europe. With the current 30% transfer bonus, you can use as few as 38K transferable points one way.

Quick Thoughts
Initially, wider availability was reported during the fall of 2024. However, the remaining availability now seems mostly limited to January and early February 2024.
If you’re considering a European winter vacation, especially for skiing, the business class price offered here could be very attractive with the 30% transfer bonuses from both Amex Membership Rewards (through May 31, 2024) and Chase Ultimate Rewards (through June 15, 2024).
There is abundant space available for at least two passengers on various routes to Paris, like Raleigh-Durham to Paris in January 2025 for 48,500 points and $278 one way.
Additionally, availability has been reported from Boston, Detroit, Atlanta, and Miami, with good availability also seen from New York.
Interestingly, the price may increase if you connect beyond Paris based on your destination, but availability also expands. For example, New York to Prague shows availability for two passengers on more days.
While the price can vary depending on your destination, it’s possible to connect beyond Paris without paying more than 48,500 miles one way. For instance, New York to Vienna in January is available for 48.5K and $296.
It’s surprising to see availability for six passengers on many dates for 48,500 miles and less than $300 in business class, especially considering the 30% transfer bonus.
