Pittsburgh-based paint and coatings company PPG has recently established a new facility in France aimed at enhancing its operations in Southern Europe and North Africa.
The aerospace application support center, located in Toulouse, France, represents a $17 million investment and will focus on providing filling and packaging capabilities for aerospace materials, including coatings and sealants for aircraft. This move is part of PPG’s efforts to improve its customer support and responsiveness, as well as to streamline the qualification process for its materials during product development.
Francois Buehlmann, PPG’s general manager EMEA, Aerospace, expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the new facility, emphasizing the significant impact it will have on their operations and customer service capabilities.
The facility features a laboratory for aerospace material development, a color blending area for coatings, a dedicated spray booth for hands-on paint application training, filling lines for touch-up kits, a transparencies inspection cell, customized packaging capabilities for third-party products, chemical management resources, and a customer service center. This latest addition marks PPG’s 17th facility of this nature worldwide.
PPG’s global presence extends to more than 70 countries, with reported net sales of $17.7 billion in 2022.
